TDA Scholarship

The T. Dustin Alward Scholarship offers financial assistance to high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of members of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM). Named in loving memory of PFFM President and Randolph Fire Captain T. Dustin “Dusty” Alward, scholarship recipients are chosen for their demonstration of scholastic aptitude, good citizenship and community service.

Scholarship Eligibility

The T. Dustin Alward Scholarship offers financial assistance to 2026 graduating high school seniors who are children or grandchildren of members of the Professional Fire Fighters of Massachusetts (PFFM). Students planning to attend a post-secondary institution are encouraged to apply. Recipients are chosen for their demonstration of scholastic aptitude, good citizenship and community service. Applicants must also have a parent or legal guardian who is a member in good standing of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts or a parent, grandparent or legal guardian who is retired or is a deceased member of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts.

The Committee will award at least 10 scholarships: a $2,000 scholarship to students attending four-year college or a $1,000 scholarship to students attending a two-year college.

T. Dustin “Dusty” Alward’s Legacy

Dustin “Dusty” Alward was a lifelong resident of Randolph who served his country in the U.S. Air Force and continued his legacy of service as a fire captain and President of the Professional Firefighters of Massachusetts. His legacy has withstood the test of time and helped dozens of young people across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to pursue higher education.
